We’re a team. That’s how we view the students and parents we work with. Each part of the team is charged with fulfilling certain tasks and when these tasks are clearly communicated, agreed upon upfront, and fulfilled in a timely manner, the student is more likely to get successful outcomes. We’re all working towards the same objective: admission to universities where the student will be happy, thrive, and find success. 

We try to minimize the stress students and families often experience during the college admissions process by encouraging students to take control over and responsibility for the process, while providing them with structure, deadlines and goals. In this way, the student is practicing the independence, confidence and assertiveness s/he will need to master throughout university and adult life with the guidance needed to build these skills.

After spending some time getting to know the student’s and family’s key criteria and circumstances, M*Power creates a first pass – a broad list of universities for the student to begin assessing.   Together, we whittle down that list to about 15 great fit schools.   During this time, we talk about how to present their best selves to admissions officers with compelling applications that ring with authenticity and promise.

On a set schedule, we work through all the components of the application with enough time for any variables that undoubtedly pop up – which they often do.   Using a proven methodology provides peace of mind and defined goals with key dates that allows the student and family to see all they have accomplished, while preparing to complete the remaining elements.

M*Power supports our students through matriculation at school.  We don’t say “sayonara” once the Common App has been submitted.  There are still significant conversations to be had around admissions, financial aid and matriculation activities.   We want to ensure you have the best information and all the tools you need to make the best decisions around choosing your university, travel, move in and connecting with key university personnel so your university experience will be a success. 

We limit the number of students we support so that we can give our full attention and dedicated time to each one to whom we commit to.
